The less salt in a dish can be managed easily by adding adequate amount of salt in the stuff.
But the excess salt in a food can be manage by using some kitchen hacks which can be used to reduce the salt as well as maintaining a dish taste good also. Today I am going to share you with hacks on how to remove excess salt from a gravy or curry which I have gathered from my mom, friends and books.
Kneaded Dough(chapati dough)
You can add a kneaded dough or a chapati dough to your gravies to reduce the excess salt in it.Just you have to do is make a 1 or 2 small balls and put it into the gravy which absorbs the excess salt in a dish and make a dish to taste good.Discard the balls after 10 minutes.
Used in:- Dals,Soups Indian gravies,Thai curries,etc....
CurdYou can use this method and add curd to a dish to dull out the saltiness.Keep in mind that the curd should be poured in a dish when the gas is off or in low flame as in high flame the curd get scattered making a dish to taste bad.
Used In:- It works best with Indian gravies.
Remove half the gravy from your salty dish and add salt-free water to dilute the saltiness. After the liquid dilution of gravy you can add spices more to balance taste.
Used In:-It works best with all gravies.
